Gotthard: ABAG powers up the world’s longest railway tunnel

The new Gotthard base tunnel comprises two single-track tunnels 57 km long with cross-connections every 325 metres. It links Erstfeld in the north with Bodio in the south. With a rock overburden of up to 2300 m, the Gotthard base tunnel is not only the longest, but also the most deeply set rail tunnel in the world.

Lötschberg: ABAG technology linking the Valais with Berne

Trouble-free railway technology since 2007. The Lötschberg base tunnel is a 34.6-kilometre railway tunnel connecting Frutigen in the Bernese Oberland with Raron in the Valais. It was opened on June 16, 2007.
